In 1984, 30 head of gazelles were transferred from Kharg Island to Kish, in cooperation with the Department of Environment, to support the breeding of the Iranian gazelle and to add to the island's attractions, and they are now scattered in herds across most areas, especially the east and south. The gazelles of Kish Island are of the Iranian goitered gazelle species, which is native to plains and steppe regions. Observing this beautiful animal at close range on the island is a common occurrence that delights every viewer. The survival and increase of the gazelle population on Kish Island is related to suitable environmental conditions, the construction of water troughs, and the distribution of forage in different parts of the island.
