About this place

The Jameh Mosque of the village of Masheh, known as the "Masheh Mosque," was built in 1319 AH (1280 SH) by Abdolmohsen Bashari, one of the great pearl merchants. All the doors, chandeliers, and ceiling mats were procured from India and Zanzibar, Africa, and the structure is one of the valuable examples of the region's vernacular architecture; it includes a courtyard, ablution facility, arcade, prayer hall, and mihrab with plaster mihrab decorations, lattice windows, and carved doors. The building's area is approximately 600 square meters. This monument was registered as one of Iran's national works on 27 Dey 1377 with registration number 2194, and any destruction or tampering with it is considered a crime under Articles 558 to 569 of Book Five of the Islamic Penal Code, "Ta'zir and Deterrent Punishments," and the perpetrator will be subject to legal penalties.
