Every dataset this platform holds, who publishes it, how it arrives, and what it cannot tell you. The counts and dates on this page are read from the platform itself each time it is loaded - nothing here is typed in.

Live readings

Fetched by this platform’s own engine on its own timers and pushed to the site. Nothing here polls an upstream while somebody is waiting for a page - which is what stops a slow third party from becoming a slow site.

What it cannot tell you
The portal publishes a day or two ahead, so an empty list is usually an unopened sale rather than a cancelled boat. Weather closes this route at short notice and no feed announces it.

Imported once per day, and backfilled to the beginning of the record.
What it covers
A day at a time: high, low, humidity, rain, wind and sea temperature, and the monthly normals every figure on the weather page is compared against.
What it cannot tell you
ERA5 is a reanalysis - a reconstruction of past weather from a model fed by every observation available at the time. It is not a log kept by a weather station on Kish, and no such log is public.

One frame fetched each day and kept.
What it covers
True colour from the MODIS instrument on NASA’s Terra satellite, and the Persian Gulf at night from VIIRS.
What it cannot tell you
A daily global mosaic that the island is cut out of - nothing points a camera at Kish. Cloud hides it as readily as it hides anything, and a cloudy day is a white square rather than a missing one.

Name, category, address and telephone for the island’s businesses, with opening hours, photographs and amenities wherever somebody has added them.
What it cannot tell you
The import carried no coordinates and almost no opening hours, and most records have never been visited. Every field a person has checked records who checked it and when; every field that says nothing has not been checked.
