On the eve of Apple's event on September 9, new information has been released about the possible price of the next generation of iPhones. Apple is expected to introduce the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max and its first foldable phone at this event; a product that is currently known as the iPhone Ultra. Of course these prices are not official yet and we must wait until the products are introduced.
According to ITPNA via GSMarena, based on information that was briefly visible on Vodafone Egypt's website, the price of the iPhone Ultra was 155,750 Egyptian pounds. By comparison, the iPhone 17 Pro Max was offered at 94,400 Egyptian pounds; therefore the price of the new foldable model would be about 65 percent more. Based on this ratio, the possible price of the iPhone Ultra could reach about $1,980, and considering the usual rounding of Apple product prices, a $2,000 base price has also been suggested.
This figure would make the iPhone Ultra a direct competitor to large foldables like the Galaxy Z Fold8. The Galaxy Z Fold8 was introduced at launch with a base price of $1,900 in the US. However, price differences between markets can be significant.
Another report stated the price of the 256 GB iPhone Ultra in Australia as AU$3,700. The 512 GB and 1 TB variants would apparently be AU$4,200 and AU$4,700 respectively. These figures, compared to the $2,200 price of the iPhone 17 Pro Max, indicate an increase of about 68 percent.
But the price increase is not limited to the foldable model. Vodafone Egypt listed the possible price of the iPhone 18 Pro at 98,000 pounds and the iPhone 18 Pro Max at 105,000 pounds. Comparison with the previous generation shows the Pro model would be about 10 percent and the Pro Max about 11 percent more expensive.
Assuming a 10 percent increase, the possible price of the iPhone 18 Pro would be about $1,210 and the iPhone 18 Pro Max about $1,320. Increased component costs could also be one reason for this price growth; estimates report a significant rise in the manufacturing cost of the iPhone 18 Pro. Nevertheless, final prices will be revealed at Apple's unveiling event.
