Samsung has begun rolling out the One UI 9 Watch beta based on Wear OS 7 for the Galaxy Watch7 and Galaxy Watch Ultra smartwatches. This release follows the One UI 9 Watch beta for the Galaxy Watch8 and Galaxy Watch8 Classic, indicating that Samsung is expanding the new generation of its smartwatch user interface.
According to ITNA citing GSMArena, the One UI 9 Watch beta adds a set of visual changes and new features to the Galaxy Watch7 and Galaxy Watch Ultra. The user interface has been redesigned in this version and new widgets are also made available to users. In the health features section, items such as Antioxidant Index and Vascular Load have been added. However, in the version specific to the US market, the Blood Pressure Trend feature replaces these two features.
The size of this update is about 1.9 GB and it is released with firmware version ending in ZZI1. It also includes the September 2026 security patch. Currently, the One UI 9 Watch beta for the Galaxy Watch7 and Galaxy Watch Ultra is available in the US and South Korea.
Users living in these two countries who wish to install the trial version on their watch must register for the One UI 9 Watch beta through the Samsung Members app. Since this is a beta version, some features or functions may not yet be finalized.
Samsung is simultaneously continuing development of One UI 9 based on Android 17 for Galaxy phones. The company recently expanded the beta of this user interface to 10 other devices including the Galaxy S23 series, the foldable Galaxy Z Fold7 and Z Flip7, the previous generation Z Fold6 and Z Flip6, and the Galaxy A57, Galaxy A56 and Galaxy S24 FE models.
Overall, One UI 9 Watch is one of Samsung’s most important new software updates for smartwatches and, by combining fresh design, new widgets and health features, it enhances the user experience of the Galaxy Watch7 and Galaxy Watch Ultra.
