After the release of the One UI 8.5 update, a widespread wave of discontent has formed among Samsung smartphone owners.

According to Eitna citing AndroidAuthority, reports filed on social networks such as Reddit, Facebook and Samsung’s official support forums indicate that users of the budget Galaxy A07 are facing serious functional and technical disruptions.

Main indicators of the One UI 8.5 bug

User complaints mainly focus on two primary axes that have disrupted the everyday user experience:

• General slowness and lag: noticeable drops in speed, repeated lags when launching apps and navigating system menus.

• Touch performance issues: unusual delays in registering touch inputs or sudden locking and freezing of the display.

Temporary fixes and the ineffectiveness of factory reset

The way this issue manifests clearly indicates a software defect in the update source. Some users have reported that locking and unlocking the display (Lock/Unlock) temporarily restores touch functionality, but the problem recurs after a short time. It is noteworthy that performing a factory reset has also failed to permanently eradicate this bug.

Scope of affected devices

Although the largest volume of complaints was recorded after the release of One UI 8.5, some owners of the 4G Galaxy A07 claim that these issues began with the One UI 8 update. In addition to the Galaxy A07, similar reports have been published by owners of other low‑end Galaxy A0 series phones that received Samsung’s latest software. This suggests the bug is a widespread defect in the One UI build optimized for entry‑level phones that will require Samsung to provide a rapid corrective patch.
