According to the Public Relations and International Affairs of the Kish Free Zone Organization, this ceremony was held at Imam Hasan Mojtaba (AS) Mosque with the presence of the Friday prayer leaders of Kish, some deputies and directors of the Kish Free Zone Organization, military and law enforcement commanders and a number of island officials.

At this ceremony, attendees honored the memory of the martyrs by cleaning and perfuming the graves of the unknown martyrs, and renewed their covenant with the ideals of Imam Khomeini (RH) and the martyrs of the Islamic Revolution.

Hojjatoleslam valmoslemin Alireza Biniaz, the Friday prayer leader of Kish, on the sidelines of this ceremony, commemorating Sacred Defense Week and the memory of the martyrs of the eight-year Sacred Defense, said: Sacred Defense Week recalls the steadfastness, endurance, firmness, trust in God and sincerity of the Iranian nation and is an opportunity to convey the values of that era to new generations.

He added: The values and characteristics that enabled the Iranian nation to stand firm during the Sacred Defense can today also guide the young and adolescent generation on the path of faith, spirituality and resistance.

The Friday prayer leader of Kish, emphasizing the necessity of revisiting the experiences of the Sacred Defense, stated: Preserving the memory of the martyrs and explaining the message of this period plays an effective role in strengthening the spirit of steadfastness and confronting the threats and pressures of the enemies.

Sheikh Yaqub Shams, the Sunni Friday prayer leader of Kish, also commemorating Sacred Defense Week, said: The Iranian nation is indebted to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives and property for the honor and pride of the country, and continuing their path today requires unity and solidarity.

He added: Appreciating the martyrs and their families and adhering to their ideals plays an important role in preserving the dignity, cohesion and solidarity of society.

Colonel Pasdar Mohammad Mirzadeh, commander of the Basij Resistance District of the Kish IRGC, also named transmitting the culture of resistance and the Sacred Defense to future generations as one of the most important goals of this week’s programs and said: A significant portion of the Sacred Defense Week programs in the country and Kish Island is held with a focus on the new generation so that the concepts of sacrifice, resistance and defending the homeland are explained to them.

He added: The presence of young people in various arenas indicates the continuation of this culture in the new generation, and the media, officials and different segments of the people can also play an effective role in explaining and transmitting these values.

This ceremony concluded with an emphasis on honoring the culture of sacrifice and resistance and the necessity of transmitting the values of the Sacred Defense to new generations.
