According to the Public Relations and International Affairs of the Kish Free Zone Organization, at the 22nd session of the Kish Free Zone Organization's "Sundays of Responsiveness" held with the presence of Mohammadreza Arab, Deputy for Technical and Civil Affairs of the Kish Development, Water and Services Company, the most important demands of Kish residents in the fields of urban maintenance, roadway improvement, surface water management, reconstruction of sports facilities and development of the island's public spaces were reviewed.
In this session, Mohammadreza Arab, referring to the ongoing nature of urban services, stated: maintaining the city and providing services in this field is a continuous and sustainable process, and for this reason, responding to the people's demands must also be pursued continuously. He listed the 137 and 124 systems as well as the Public Relations and International Affairs Management and the Inspection of the Kish Development, Water and Services Company as channels for people to communicate with the responsible bodies.
Implementation of 760,000 square meters of asphalt over two years
The Deputy for Technical and Civil Affairs of the Kish Development, Water and Services Company, referring to residents' demand for roadway improvement, said: about 760,000 square meters of asphalt have been laid on the island over the past two years, which is about two and a half times more compared to the two-year period before that.
Emphasizing the continuation of people's demands in this area, Arab added: a new phase of paving operations has begun, and in the area from Farvar Square to Nobonyad Square, groundwork and asphalt laying are underway. According to him, expanding these operations is included in this year's executive programs.
Development of surface water collection and diversion schemes
He went on to mention actions taken to reduce roadway flooding and said: over the past two years about 70 absorption wells have been implemented scattered across the city and seven water absorption channels (trenches) have also been put into operation to collect surface waters.
Arab stated that the new phase of these schemes began two months ago and said: one water absorption channel (trench) has been implemented in the Mellat Square area and construction of a second channel in the Hormoz Square area is underway.
He added: the locations for implementing the new schemes were chosen based on studies conducted during last year's flooding. Accordingly, in some points absorption wells are being dug and in other points construction of culverts and pipe laying to direct surface waters are scheduled.
The Deputy for Technical and Civil Affairs of the Kish Development, Water and Services Company also announced actions related to resolving flooding in the Khanshir area and the end of Danesh-Amuz Street and said: areas including Kolbeh Hur and the Marjan and Karaneh coastal strips are also planned for operations in the coming weeks.
Continuation of renovation and refurbishment of Kish sports complexes
In another part of his remarks, Arab addressed actions taken to renovate the island's sports facilities and said: last year two sports halls were completely rebuilt and the lighting standardization of the Khalij-e Fars complex hall and the multipurpose hall at the beginning of the year was carried out.
Referring to actions taken at the Karaneh pool, he added: reconstructing the false ceiling and the pool basin was included in the executive program and last summer the complete refurbishment of the cooling systems of the Olympic complex halls was carried out.
According to Arab, refurbishing the lighting of Ghadir and Kosar halls, waterproofing the roofs and completing the refurbishment operations of the Mirmohanna sports hall, which had been damaged, are among other planned programs in this area.
Expansion of sidewalk works and development of public spaces
The Deputy for Technical and Civil Affairs of the Kish Development, Water and Services Company also announced an increase in implementation capacity for expanding sidewalks and public courtyards of the island and said: with the emphasis of the CEO of the Kish Free Zone Organization, a new capacity for implementing these projects has been allocated and after holding a tender, the relevant contractor has been selected.
He expressed hope that in the coming months, the process of implementing sidewalk and courtyard works across the island will be pursued more rapidly.
Arab went on to refer to the Minab Angels Park project, located next to Amir Mosque, and said: this project currently has about 40 percent physical progress and is expected to be put into operation by mid Aban.
Turning "Sundays of Responsiveness" from an idea into a lasting tradition
At the end of this session, Mohammadreza Arab, while thanking the executive staff of the plan, referred to the continuation of holding the "Sundays of Responsiveness" and said: this program was initially an attractive idea, but now, after 22 weeks since its start, it can be said that it has moved beyond the idea stage and become a continuous tradition.
He, while thanking the organization's inspection body and the Public Relations and International Affairs Management, which at the insistence of the CEO of the Kish Free Zone Organization placed the implementation of this plan on the agenda, emphasized the importance of maintaining direct communication with the people and responding to their demands.
