Grok Bot, the AI assistant from xAI, has received a new feature that allows users to create a dedicated email address for this AI agent.
According to ITNA citing 9to5Mac, this feature enables Grok Bot to sign up for services on behalf of users, communicate with businesses, and coordinate appointments and meeting times.
According to a post on X, the dedicated email feature began rolling out to users on October 9, 2026. To activate it, users can type phrases like "create my email address" in conversation with Grok Bot or mention the bot@ account on X.
Once the process starts, the user can request their preferred name for the email. Grok Bot checks whether the chosen address is available. Emails for this service are created with the dedicated domain mail.grokbot.com@ and are given to the AI system so it can carry out assigned tasks.
This feature is a step toward turning AI assistants from purely conversational tools into agents that can perform real, multi-step activities on behalf of users. For example, such an agent could sign up for a service or use its dedicated email to communicate with a company.
Adding a dedicated email is not the only change Grok Bot has seen this week. The assistant earlier received an intelligence boost with the help of Claude, the AI model from Anthropic.
These developments come as major tech companies intensify competition to develop AI agents. Meta is developing Muse, its AI agent, and an iPad version has also been released. OpenAI is also working on Dot, a proactive AI agent based on Astra technology.
Grok Bot is available for iPhone, iPad, and Mac (at https://x.ai/bot). With the addition of a dedicated email, the tool can play a more active role in users’ daily tasks; however, how access and the information the agent uses during sign-ups or correspondence are managed will remain important issues for users to consider.
