According to the Public Relations and International Affairs of the Kish Free Zone Organization, Dr. Ali Seyfi, Head of Kish Veterinary Office, referring to supervision of the supply chain of raw animal products, said: these products are supplied from authorized centers and distributed in accordance with sanitary regulations and standards. Supervision of the production, transportation and sale stages of these products is also carried out with the aim of protecting consumers' health and preventing sanitary violations on Kish Island.
He stated that farm-to-table supervision is one of the main missions of the veterinary office in ensuring food safety, and added: supervision of the health of animal products at all stages of the supply chain, especially at the point of sale, is of particular importance.
Seyfi continued, referring to intensified sanitary supervision at specific times of the year and occasions such as Eid al-Adha, the holy month of Ramadan, the month of Muharram and Nowruz: given the increased demand for raw animal products during these periods, veterinary supervision is carried out with greater intensity and sensitivity.
He added: the aim of these inspections is to ensure compliance with sanitary regulations, control the health of products and prevent the sale of unauthorized products so that consumers' health is protected and food security is ensured across the island.
The Head of the Kish Veterinary Office also advised Kish residents and those active in the food and tourism sector to procure their required protein products from authorized centers and added: given the climatic conditions of Kish Island, the use of frozen products with sanitary approval and maintaining the cold chain plays an important role in the safe storage of these products.
Seyfi, explaining other missions of the veterinary office in the field of public health, said: the role of the veterinary office goes beyond caring for companion animals and farm livestock. Preventing zoonotic diseases, including rabies, and controlling animal diseases such as foot-and-mouth disease are among the important actions of this body in protecting public health and supporting the country's production and economy.
Referring to ways to contact the Kish Veterinary Office, he said: if Kish residents observe any sanitary violation or have a complaint about the sale of raw animal products, they can report the matter directly to this office using the contact information posted in notices installed in stores selling meat and protein products.
Seyfi added: it is also possible to register and follow up reports through the Inspection System 124 and by calling the telephone number 44421958. He emphasized the importance of Kish residents' participation in reporting violations and cooperating with regulatory bodies to protect public health and improve food hygiene.
