The comparison of the Pixel 11 Pro XL and the Galaxy S26 Ultra shows that both Google and Samsung flagships are among the most powerful options on the market, but their main differences are seen in software approach, camera, display, and AI capabilities.
According to Etna, the AndroidAuthority website expert personally chooses the Pixel 11 Pro XL because they prefer the more minimal software experience and faster receipt of Android updates.
In terms of display, the Galaxy S26 Ultra is equipped with a 6.9-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X panel with a 120 Hz refresh rate, while the Pixel 11 Pro XL has a 6.8-inch Super Actua display with a 1 to 120 Hz refresh rate. An important strength of the Pixel is its much higher brightness reaching up to 3,600 nits; in contrast, the Galaxy’s peak brightness is reported as 1,600 nits. This difference can be very important for using the phone outdoors and under direct sunlight.
On the camera side, the Galaxy S26 Ultra has a quad setup with a 200-megapixel main camera, while the Pixel 11 Pro XL uses a 50-megapixel main camera. However, megapixel count does not necessarily mean better performance, and the Pixel, with a 1/1.3-inch sensor and a 48-megapixel 5x telephoto camera, aims to deliver high quality. The author also prefers the Pixel’s image processing and finds Samsung’s camera somewhat overly saturated.
In the field of artificial intelligence, both phones have advanced features. The Galaxy S26 Ultra offers capabilities such as smart calling, notification summarization, and Creative Studio, but the Pixel 11 Pro XL, with Gemini Intelligence, Creator Suite, Teleprompter, Storyboard, and advanced video editing features, takes a deeper approach to AI.
Ultimately, the Pixel 11 Pro XL is a more attractive choice for users who prefer simpler software, faster updates, and AI capabilities; in contrast, the Galaxy S26 Ultra will be a more suitable option for more professional users who value powerful hardware, extensive features, and a personalized experience.
