After about 25 years, the well-known tool CPU-Z has experienced one of the biggest updates in its history with the release of version V3. The new version, in addition to redesigning the detection and validation system, offers more advanced capabilities for checking system stability, identifying hardware issues, and more accurate measurement of processor frequency for users.

According to Arab Hardware, the new CPU-Z can be considered a fundamental overhaul in the detection and verification component of this tool; a change that, since the release of the first CPU-Z in 2001, ranks among its most significant transformations.

Quick system check in under 10 seconds

One of the most important changes in CPU-Z V3 is the redesign of its validation system, which is now offered in three main modes. The standard mode is designed for a quick system check and can evaluate more than 100 items in less than 10 seconds.

This check assesses various parts of the system, including hardware specifications, temperature, processor status, and unnecessary software or services; items that may affect performance or hardware test results.

To make interpreting results easier, identified issues are also categorized into several levels such as critical, warning, and informational. This method allows the user to identify more important problems more quickly and prioritize fixing them.

Deep tests to find hidden problems

CPU-Z V3 for the first time also offers an Advanced Validation mode. This mode is designed for users who need a deeper examination of hardware status and want to identify problems that may not appear in everyday use.

The duration of these tests can vary from a few minutes to several hours depending on the type of check. In this process, components such as the processor, RAM, and graphics card are subjected to stress and fault-detection tests.

Also, advanced sensors based on the HWMonitor tool have been added to CPU-Z V3 to display information such as temperature, processor frequency, fan speeds, and other hardware indicators in real time during the tests.

New features for overclockers

The XOC Validation mode, designed for professional users and overclocking enthusiasts, has also been improved in the new version. One of the most important changes in this section is the use of a new mechanism for measuring modern processor frequencies and better management of memory overclocking.

The aim of these changes is to reduce the likelihood of false validation rejections and to provide a more accurate picture of actual hardware performance.

CPU-Z V3 calculates the processor's true frequency more accurately

One of the important changes in CPU-Z V3 relates to how processor frequency is measured. Today's processors adjust their frequency dynamically depending on workload, power consumption, and temperature; therefore, recording a fixed value does not necessarily reflect the chip's real performance.

CPU-Z V3 now calculates the processor's true frequency in addition to the input frequency. If the true frequency is lower than the value recorded as the input frequency, the validation system considers the true value as the final result.

This approach is significantly different from the mechanism of CPU-Z V2. The previous version relied on a five-second load and a single measurement for validation; a method that did not account for some internal checks and real operating conditions of the processor and could increase the chance of errors in results.

The standard mode of CPU-Z V3 is currently free

The standard validation mode of CPU-Z V3 is currently available to users experimentally and for free. Users can download and install the new CPU-Z from the official website of the tool to test this feature.

After running the program, simply go to the Validation section at the bottom of the user interface and select the Submit option. The system check result will be displayed in the browser after a few seconds.

Overall, CPU-Z V3 is not just a routine update and brings extensive changes to the detection and validation system of this tool. Greater focus on stability, more accurate frequency measurement, and special features for overclockers can make CPU-Z a more practical tool for the new generation of hardware.
