According to the Public Relations and International Affairs of the Kish Free Zone Organization, Ezzatollah Mohammadi, CEO of Kish Ports and Airports Development and Management Company, at the ceremony attended by Mohammad Kabiri, CEO of the Kish Free Zone Organization, and Abuzar Shiroudi, Deputy Minister of Roads and Urban Development and Head of the Civil Aviation Organization, referring to the trend of developing the island's aviation infrastructure, said: in recent years, development of the terminal, flight personnel, runway and aviation equipment has been on the agenda and this airport has gone through a path of development and upgrade in terms of facilities and specialized equipment.

The CEO of Kish Ports and Airports Development and Management Company, emphasizing the role of the private sector in developing the island's aviation industry, said: the entry of private sector investors into specialized areas has created new capacities for developing Kish's aviation services, and the launching of a Boeing 737 flight simulator is an example of this valuable cooperation.

He added: from this stage onward, developing the island's aviation capacities requires a stronger presence of the private sector, and the Kish Free Zone Organization, by providing investment opportunities, welcomes the presence of actors in this field.

Mohammadi also announced the implementation of developmental projects in areas related to the aviation industry and said: increasing the airport's refueling capacity, creating the country's first civilian heliport by the private sector, and enabling activity in areas such as aircraft and helicopter maintenance are among the programs pursued to develop the island's aviation capacities.

Referring to the renewal of Kish's airport certificates, he added: obtaining these certificates is the result of creating appropriate infrastructure, observing the required standards and cooperation of related bodies, and more important than obtaining the certificates is the continuous preservation and enhancement of airport standards.

Continuing the ceremony, Javad Rajabi, CEO of Atlas Air, referring to the operation of the Boeing 737 flight simulator, said: launching this complex is the result of cooperation and support from various bodies including the Kish Free Zone Organization, Kish Ports and Airports Development and Management Company, the Civil Aviation Organization and other related agencies.

He added: given the expansion of the country's air fleet, developing training infrastructure is also a significant necessity, and operating this simulator, in addition to upgrading the level of specialized training, will reduce foreign currency outflow from the country and increase access to professional aviation training.

The CEO of Atlas Air continued: with the launch of this complex, the country will gain new capacities in pilot training for Boeing 737 and MD aircraft and some of the aviation industry's training needs will be met domestically.

He also referred to plans to expand aerial activities on Kish Island and said: there are plans to station aircraft on the island and to develop domestic and international flights that can pave the way to strengthen Kish's position in air transport.

The operation of these two projects is part of the program to develop Kish Island's infrastructure in the field of air transport and the aviation industry, which has been carried out within the framework of inauguration projects from Government Week to Kish Day.
