According to the Public Relations and International Affairs of the Kish Free Zone Organization, Abuzar Shiroudi said on the sidelines of the inauguration ceremony of aviation industry infrastructure projects in Kish: On the occasion of Government Week, the Boeing 737 aircraft simulator project was inaugurated in the Atlas complex, which can pave the way for good developments in the aviation sector of Kish Island.

He, appreciating the efforts of the CEO of the Kish Free Zone Organization and the management team of this region, added: The actions and follow-ups of the Kish Free Zone Organization have made possible the implementation of this project and the creation of new capacities in Kish's aviation industry.

The head of the Civil Aviation Organization also, referring to the opening of the apron of Kish International Airport, said: With the operation of this project, the airport's capacity to accommodate six wide-body aircraft simultaneously has increased.

Shiroudi continued: The development of aviation and training infrastructures in Kish is being pursued seriously and we predict that by the end of the year other projects in the island's aviation and helicopter sectors will also be put into operation.

He about the Civil Aviation Organization's plan to increase Kish flights stated: In the coming weeks the number of flights to this island will increase and we will try to use the capacity of wide-body aircraft for this purpose.

The head of the Civil Aviation Organization noted: Increasing seat capacity of flights can raise supply in the market and help create a balance between supply and demand; an issue that ultimately can lead to adjustment of plane ticket prices.

Shiroudi, emphasizing continued support for the development of Kish's air transport, said: Increasing flight capacity, developing airport infrastructures and strengthening training and operational sections are among the measures that will be pursued to strengthen Kish's position in the aviation industry.

He finally, referring to the start of the island's international flights, announced: Kish Airport's international flights will resume within the next two weeks and negotiations to establish a Moscow route are also underway.

In continuation, the CEO of the Kish Free Zone Organization added: The program to inaugurate and break ground on 23 projects has begun today and will continue until 20 Aban, coinciding with Kish Day. The total value of these projects is about 140,000 billion tomans, half of which are projects ready for operation and the other half are new projects that will begin execution with investor attraction.

He, appreciating the support of the head of the Civil Aviation Organization for the development of the aviation industry on the island, said: Kish is on the path to becoming the southern air hub of the country and to achieve this goal, the development of specialized aviation industry infrastructures is being pursued with private sector participation.

Kabiri continued: In the field of aviation training, infrastructures related to flight simulators, including the Boeing 737 type, have been established on the island and planning for the deployment of an MD type simulator is underway until Kish Day.

He added: With the commencement of operations of the first aircraft maintenance center in Kish and the development of helicopter activities, the chain of aviation industry services on the island will be more complete and we expect good news in the future in the fields of aviation tourism and also the provision of technical and engineering services.

Support for investment in tourism-supporting industries

The CEO of the Kish Free Zone Organization, referring to the organization's supportive policies for investors, said: Investment incentive packages in Kish have existed in the past, but now the supports have been strengthened with a focus on creating the infrastructures needed by investors.

Kabiri said: The Kish Free Zone strives to provide infrastructures such as water, electricity and logistical services required for projects so that the additional costs of creating infrastructure are not imposed on investors.

He continued: Incentives have also been considered for new technologies and industries that operate as tourism-supporting industries, including in the area of land allocation, more appropriate payment conditions will be provided to investors compared to the usual national procedures.

The CEO of the Kish Free Zone Organization noted: In the tourism sector, the possibility of paying land costs in three to five year installments has been envisaged and alongside that, special support packages regarding issuance of licenses and permits for economic activities for various industries have been considered, the detailed supplementary information of which will be announced soon.
