The iPhone 18 Pro will be one of the most important flagship phones of 2026; not necessarily because it has the largest battery or the best camera, but because of the broad influence Apple products have on the mobile industry. Many competing companies draw inspiration from the iPhone’s design and capabilities, and for that reason, the success or failure of the iPhone 18 Pro can affect the next generation of phones from Samsung, Google and other manufacturers.
According to ITPna citing Phonearena, ahead of the official unveiling, a lot of information and rumors about the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max have been published. However, the main issue goes beyond technical specifications. This phone must provide a complete and trouble-free experience; a matter that has recently become a challenge for some rival flagships.
One of the cited examples is the Galaxy S26 Ultra. Some users of this phone have complained about a red tint appearing on the display, especially when showing white or bright backgrounds. Reports indicate the problem is likely software-related and tied to display calibration, and Samsung is working on fixing it. Still, the idea that buyers of an expensive flagship phone must wait weeks or months for such an issue to be resolved is far from the experience expected from a premium product.
The Pixel 11 has also faced a different problem. Apparently, running the popular game Genshin Impact on this phone encounters serious issues. The source of the problem is attributed to the PowerVR-based GPU in the Tensor G6 chip and while there are discussions about game optimization, the result for the user is the same: a flagship phone should be well-tested for running important apps and games before release.
This matter becomes more significant because the previous generation, the Pixel 10, also reportedly faced issues such as frame drops, screen tearing, disappearing characters and crashes in Genshin Impact.
So the primary expectation from the iPhone 18 Pro is not to release a “flawless” product; rather a complete, well-tested product with as few software and compatibility issues as possible. If Apple can deliver such an experience, it will put more pressure on Samsung, Google and other competitors to ship reliable products.
