The iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max have been officially introduced, and Apple has brought its new generation of flagships to the field with a set of hardware and camera upgrades.
According to Eitna quoting 9to5mac, the overall design of the phones still resembles the previous generation, but Apple has made significant changes in the internals, camera, and artificial intelligence capabilities.
The beating heart of the iPhone 18 Pro is the new A20 Pro chip, manufactured with 2-nanometer process technology and equipped with a 6-core CPU and a 7-core GPU. According to Apple, the graphics performance of this chip is 40% faster and memory bandwidth has increased by 50%. A 32-core neural engine and a new generation vapor chamber are also included to better run AI features and maintain performance under heavy processing loads.
One of the most important changes in the iPhone 18 Pro is the 48-megapixel main camera with a variable aperture. Users can now manually adjust the aperture and shutter speed and, by controlling the depth of field, have greater freedom in photography. Night mode has also become faster and higher quality, and smart focus features and advanced photography styles give users more control.
Apple has also introduced the Reference Image feature, which by storing reference information alongside image edits, enables verification of a photo's authenticity and detection that the image was not generated by artificial intelligence.
The iPhone 18 Pro is available in four colors: black, icy, silver, and maroon, and its smaller Dynamic Island can display three live activities simultaneously. The iPhone 18 Pro starts at $1199 and the Pro Max model starts at $1299. Preorders begin on September 12 and official availability begins on September 18.
