Speedtest's report on median mobile and fixed broadband speeds worldwide for August 2026 has been published. According to this report, in the eighth month of the year the global median mobile internet speed was 109.05 Mbps and the global median fixed broadband speed was 129.68 Mbps.

This ranking, which normally also showed Iran's median mobile and fixed internet speeds, now in the latest report displays no information in this regard.

This comes while in previous reports, including data related to March 2026, Iran was still included in this ranking, but in May 2026 Iran's name did not appear on the global speed ranking list. On the other hand, no announcement or statement was released regarding Iran's removal from this list.

However, Iran's name reappeared in the country rankings in June 2026 and only the country's median fixed broadband speed was listed, but there were no reliable data for Iran in the mobile internet section.

Speedtest's July 2026 report also, as before, showed N/A in the mobile internet section-meaning there were no reliable data in this area-but Iran's median fixed broadband speed that month was recorded at 24.90 Mbps and the country occupied rank 137 in that ranking.

UAE and Qatar are the fastest for mobile

In sixth place is South Korea with a median speed of 250.56 Mbps, moving up two places from last month. Bahrain, with a median speed of 243.48 Mbps, has likewise retained its seventh-place position from the previous month.

In eighth, ninth and tenth places are Saudi Arabia (224.54 Mbps), Vietnam (219.93 Mbps) and Bulgaria (203.13 Mbps), respectively, each moving up one place compared to July 2026.

Singapore becomes the fastest fixed broadband provider

In the fixed broadband rankings, Singapore is in first place with a median speed of 462.50 Mbps, a position unchanged from last month. But according to Speedtest's ranking, Singapore is not the only country to have maintained its position; the United Arab Emirates (382.40 Mbps), Chile (364.48 Mbps), Hong Kong (362.27 Mbps), France (332.10 Mbps), and Macau (321.88 Mbps) have also kept their positions compared to last month and occupy second through sixth places, respectively.

The United States, with a median speed of 307.16 Mbps, and Vietnam, with a median speed of 301.48 Mbps, are in seventh and eighth places; the United States moved up one place while Vietnam fell one place compared to the previous month./ Mehr
