Xiaomi has started rolling out the first trial build of HyperOS 4 for a selection of its phones. The company unveiled its new-generation operating system in mid-August and last week opened registration for interested users to join the global HyperOS 4 beta program. The first trial build is now available to members of that program.
According to ITna citing GSMArena, currently only three phones can receive the HyperOS 4 beta: Xiaomi 17 Ultra, Xiaomi 17, and Leica Leitzphone by Xiaomi. Users who own one of these phones and have been accepted into the trial program can manually check for the update by going to Settings, then About phone, and tapping the build number.
Xiaomi has announced that the scope of the trial program will soon expand. From 17 September, just two days after this report’s publication, owners of the Xiaomi 17T, Xiaomi 17T Pro, Xiaomi 15, and Xiaomi 15 Ultra will also be able to access the HyperOS 4 trial build.
HyperOS 4 is one of Xiaomi’s major software updates. This version is introduced with a new glass-like UI appearance, more customization options, and AI-based features. With the release of the trial build, Xiaomi intends to test the performance and stability of the new features with the help of users before the public launch.
Despite the start of public testing, it is still unclear whether additional phones beyond the announced models will be included in the HyperOS 4 beta program. Xiaomi has also not provided a specific timeline for the stable release of HyperOS 4; therefore users may still have to wait some time to receive the final version.
