Recording about 3,250 voyages of vehicle-carrying vessels in recent months
In this meeting, the Director General of Kish Ports, providing a comprehensive report on the performance of this directorate, said: From the start of the imposed war until 28 Shahrivar, approximately 3,250 inbound and outbound voyages of vehicle-carrying vessels, including light and heavy vehicles, were carried out and through these voyages we were able to meet the primary needs of the people of Kish and even the tourists who were present on the island during this period.
According to this report, in the period from 9 Esfand to 28 Shahrivar, about 22,380 passenger cars entered Kish Island. Also during the same period, the transfer of 26,800 passenger cars from the island to the mainland via vehicle-carrying vessels was carried out.
Rakian stated that in the same period, nearly 2,900 inbound and outbound voyages were made by passenger vessels and added: the total number of passengers arriving on the island via vehicle-carrying vessels and passenger vessels was about 67,150 people and the number of departing passengers was about 80,400 people.
Fleet modernization and safety enhancement; two main focuses of Kish Ports in 1405
The Director General of Kish Ports, outlining this directorate's programs for 1405, named the modernization of the maritime transport fleet as one of the main pillars of these programs and added: One of our main priorities in 1405 is the modernization of the maritime transport fleet. This necessity must be realized by utilizing the capacity of the private sector so that Kish residents and tourists can commute between Kish Island and the mainland with the lowest cost and the highest quality of services.
He also cited improving port safety as the second key pillar of next year's programs and emphasized the need to raise the safety level of Kish and Chark ports in accordance with needs, legal requirements, and international conventions, adding: Safety issues are among the main components of port operations and we will strengthen this area more than before in line with needs, legal requirements and international conventions.
Rakian continued: Currently, the existing multipurpose service vessel in the region also covers part of the area's safety needs in various fields including firefighting, rescue operations and providing port services to vessels, and these services will be upgraded next year.
