Xiaomi has announced the official launch date for the Xiaomi 18 series, and the company’s new flagships are set to be unveiled on 23 September 2026 at 7 PM China time. However, users in Western markets will likely have to wait until March 2027 and the Mobile World Congress to access these phones.

According to ITna citing Techadvisor, the Xiaomi 18 series will enter the market with a special focus on camera, display, and battery. According to information Xiaomi released before the launch event, the Pro models will use the new Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 chip and may be among the first phones equipped with this chipset.

One of the most important announced features is the dual 200-megapixel Leica camera system, which could make the Xiaomi 18 Pro one of the most camera-centric phones on the market. Xiaomi also announced an ultra-thin 0.99 mm bezel, the new generation of SuperPixel displays, and M11 brightness technology. The display’s peak brightness also reaches 4000 nits, which is important for HDR content and use in very bright environments.

Battery capacity is another potential strength of this family. It is said that the Xiaomi 18 Pro will be equipped with a 7000 mAh battery, while the Pro Max version could have a very large 8500 mAh battery. Such capacity is very notable among high-end flagship phones.

One of the most distinctive features of the new generation is the rear display. Xiaomi offered this feature on the 17 Pro series as well, but the rear display of the Xiaomi 18 Pro is expected to become more functional and may even allow the creation of dedicated apps for use on it. The new phones will also be equipped with a hardware privacy display on the front that can limit viewing of the screen from side angles.

In terms of design, the Xiaomi 18 Pro is introduced in white, with a variant called Galactic Blue and a night-sky-like effect also planned; black will be another option. Xiaomi will also unveil HyperOS 4 as the new generation operating system for these phones.

Despite attractive specifications, the global availability situation is still not entirely clear. The Xiaomi 18 series is expected not to be released in the United States, and in the UK and Europe not all models will likely be available. The Ultra model, which has a special focus on the camera, will also likely not be sold in Western markets. The standard Xiaomi 18 and at least one of the Pro models are more likely candidates for global release.
