Kish is an island of new opportunities; an opportunity for travel, experience, investment and building a future in which tourism contributes to people’s quality of life and the prosperity of Iran’s economy. World Tourism Day is an occasion to, while honoring the efforts of the large family of this industry, speak about the path ahead and ideas that can turn into new movement and vitality on the island.
The consequences of war and limited flight capacity have made the importance of sustainable access to Kish clearer than before. Our priority today is to pursue increasing flight capacity and facilitating travel in cooperation with national bodies and transport industry stakeholders. At the same time, by utilizing the capacity of maritime routes, designing diverse and economical travel packages, and strengthening cooperation with the private sector, we must provide more ways for tourists to visit.
The future of Kish tourism needs new ideas and the courage to implement them; from cultural and sporting events that create travel incentives to marine tourism, local experiences and smart services that make travel easier and more enjoyable. The island’s creative youth, entrepreneurs and investors are our main partners on this path, and our duty is to facilitate their activities and shorten the distance from idea to execution.
The criterion for this movement’s success is also clear: visitors leave Kish with greater satisfaction, businesses have more opportunities to grow, and the island’s people feel the share of tourism development in their lives.
On this day, above all we must be grateful to those who, despite concerns and constraints, have kept Kish’s tourism light burning; employees who work with commitment, entrepreneurs who strive to preserve employment, and Kish residents who still kindly host their fellow countrymen.
I congratulate the large family of this industry on World Tourism Day and express my gratitude for their perseverance and companionship. I believe Kish has the capacity to pass these difficult days and begin a new period of prosperity with the active cooperation of tourism stakeholders, media professionals and humanitarians; with effective support, timely decisions and real openings in the path of travel.
Today, the best way to honor Tourism Day is to take a practical step to restore prosperity and confidence to the lives of the island’s people.
