According to the Public Relations and International Affairs of the Kish Free Zone Organization, these series of meetings are held continuously to implement the Citizens' Rights Charter and, as emphasized by the CEO of the Kish Free Zone Organization, to ensure transparent, direct, and responsible accountability of managers to the people.

During this program, Reza Hakami responded to calls and demands of Kish residents via the 124 system. Requests and issues raised in the areas of green space, irrigation challenges, repair and patching of streets and sidewalks, organization of construction waste and other topics related to urban services were recorded and necessary orders were issued for their field inspection and follow-up.

Organization of Construction Waste and Expansion of Green Space

The Deputy of Urban Affairs of Kish Development, Water and Services Company said about management of construction waste: alongside organizing storage sites and accelerating cleanup, reviewing and implementing technical solutions for recycling construction waste and returning these materials to the economic cycle is on the agenda.

Hakami, referring to the extent of the island's green cover, stated: in total there are about 4,700 hectares of green cover across Kish, of which about 760 hectares are urban green space and about 80 hectares are dedicated to green space within residential complexes. He added: nearly 30 percent of these green areas are still irrigated in the traditional manner.

Referring to fluctuations and reductions in the volume of treated wastewater inflow in recent months, he emphasized the necessity of sustainable management of water resources and added: expanding the water supply network, extending drip irrigation systems and using modern technologies are among this year's programs in this field.

Hakami also announced the equipping of the island's peripheral ring, 42 kilometers long and with an average width of 11 meters, with completion of subbase and provision of water and soil, and said: planting native species compatible with Kish's tropical climate will provide the basis for creating a green belt around the island.

Mechanization of Urban Services and Lighting Network Rehabilitation

The Deputy of Urban Affairs of Kish Development, Water and Services Company, emphasizing the need to develop modern methods in urban maintenance, said: using up-to-date machinery and equipment in the areas of sweeping, waste collection, street washing and tree pruning is pursued to raise urban service standards in line with Kish's tourism status, and these indicators will also be considered in new contractor documents and contracts.

He listed improved quality and speed of service delivery, reduced wear on human resources and optimal management of time and costs as the most important advantages of developing mechanization of urban services.

Hakami continued, referring to the extent of the lighting network and the dispersion of light towers on the island, stating that replacing high-consumption lamps with low-consumption LED systems is a priority program in this area and said: a comprehensive plan to rehabilitate the street lighting network with the aim of increasing energy efficiency and using smart lighting control equipment has been drafted as a three-year program and will be implemented.

He also, emphasizing the island's tourism identity, considered renovation of urban furniture and equipping public and beach spaces among other programs underway and added: selecting a specialized consultant to draft the "Kish Comprehensive Lighting Plan" with the approach of enhancing visual effects on busy and tourist routes has been finalized and implementation of new environmental elements using cultural and artistic capacities is being pursued within this framework.

Direct Communication with the People; the Core of "Accountability Sundays"

The Deputy of Urban Affairs of Kish Development, Water and Services Company concluded that "Accountability Sundays" are a valuable opportunity to hear people's issues and demands directly and to accelerate addressing urban matters, and said: alongside the 124 and 137 systems and other communication platforms, the continuation of these meetings provides grounds for more effective and direct communication between the people and managers.
