Samsung has long been working on developing smart glasses and now it appears this product has taken another important step toward launch. Documents filed with the U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC) provide new information about Samsung's upcoming smart glasses and indicate the company has likely prepared several different versions of the product.

According to ITNA citing Android Authority, Samsung earlier showcased parts of its plan to enter the smart glasses market at the summer Unpacked event. The company intends to collaborate with two brands, Warby Parker and Gentle Monster, in designing the new products; an approach similar to Meta's collaboration with Ray-Ban to produce smart glasses.

According to information first published by Droid Life, Samsung's smart glasses have been seen in the FCC database. In that database, two separate filings appear for two different styles of smart glasses, likely one related to Samsung's collaboration with Warby Parker and the other related to Gentle Monster.

The documents show model numbers SM-O200J and SM-O200P. Based on current information, the SM-O200J model is likely the version designed in collaboration with Gentle Monster, while the SM-O200P could be the model developed with Warby Parker.

Samsung apparently has several different variants planned for both designs. The SM-O200P model, in addition to the main version, will have four other models numbered SM-O201P through SM-O204P. On the other hand, the SM-O200J family includes five additional versions numbered SM-O201J through SM-O205J.

Filing these products with the FCC does not necessarily mean an official release date has been announced, but it indicates the development process and obtaining the necessary approvals for Samsung's smart glasses have entered a more advanced stage. With these products Samsung could enter more direct competition with Meta's smart glasses; a market that has attracted increased attention in recent years.
