Citroën, while present at the Paris Motor Show, has begun the first stages of introducing an all-electric concept car; a vehicle shaped by the heritage of the historic 2CV and intended to be compact, economical, and suited to everyday needs.
According to Etna via Arenaev, the French automaker has launched its advertising campaign titled "Time 2 Meet Again".
The campaign starts today and will continue until October 5. Citroën intends to reveal a small part of the new concept car each day so audiences gradually become familiar with its design and features. Images of the project will also be displayed at the Porte de Versailles metro station during the week leading up to October 5.
The official unveiling of this concept car is scheduled for October 12. Until the new product is revealed, Citroën has also invited old 2CV fans to share their favorite pictures and memories of this iconic car; an action that indicates the new model will have a close connection to the 2CV's heritage.
Citroën has not yet released the technical details of this electric car, but has specified three main principles for it: affordable price, simplicity, and human-centered design. This approach could indicate Citroën's effort to build an urban electric car that, while using new technologies, reduces the complexity and high cost of some of today's electric vehicles.
Thus, the electric 2CV concept could be one of Citroën's most important new products at the Paris show; a car that links the brand's iconic past with the needs of the electric vehicle era.
