According to the Public Relations and International Affairs of the Kish Free Zone Organization, in this meeting Mohammad Kabiri, praising the efforts of the staff of this entity, described postal services as the main supporter of economic activities and the provider of the needs of the people of Kish and said: in conditions where tourist entry to the island faces restrictions, the importance of these services becomes doubled.

Ministerial follow-up to facilitate parcel dispatch

Kabiri, referring to the longstanding concerns of Kish residents and economic activists regarding sending parcels to the mainland, reported intensive consultations with the relevant ministries and added: by utilizing legal capacities and recent government approvals for the southern provinces, we are determined to take more effective steps to remove the postal obstacles of this free zone.

He also referred to the start of postal service deployment in cooperation with Customs from the beginning of Mehr in the Mika Mall markets and the commercial center, and asked the post management to continuously monitor merchants’ and citizens’ opinions to assess the quality and level of satisfaction with these services.

Financing the G-NAF project in Kish

The CEO of the Kish Free Zone Organization called the implementation of the national location-based addressing system project (G-NAF) the cornerstone of developing smart services on the island and stated: despite limited financial resources, I will personally follow up and finalize the financing of this vital project so that its implementation can begin in stages.

Increasing postal units and launching the direct Bandar Abbas route

In continuation of this meeting, Jamal Hassanzadeh, head of Kish Post Office, presented a report on recent developments of this entity and said: with the cooperation of the relevant bodies, the island’s postal service network has expanded and the number of active units, by being present at the port, airport and busy markets, has reached more than 7 units.

Referring to the success of the post deployment plan in Mika Mall and the commercial center to facilitate online retail sales of trades, he announced the re-establishment of the direct postal exchange route between Bandar Abbas and Kish and added: currently postal consignments are moved three times a week on this route, which has played a significant role in reducing delays and speeding up receipt and dispatch of parcels.

At the end, Hassanzadeh, emphasizing that the postal code is the spatial identity of every citizen, described the completion of the G-NAF project as a major step toward accelerating administrative processes and the intelligent connection of service systems to each other and requested continued support from the management of the Kish Free Zone Organization.
