According to the Public Relations and International Affairs of the Kish Free Zone Organization, Mohammad Kabiri, explaining the objectives and achievements of his recent trip to Tehran, stated: in business trips to the capital, matters that require government license or approval for immediate support of the island's businesses are pursued through interaction with ministries, organizations, banks and financial and credit institutions. The recent trip also had suitable achievements in the areas of social security, taxation, goods exit, mobile phone imports and financing travel to Kish.
He added: in cooperation with the Ministry of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts, a resolution has been obtained from the Cabinet based on which the Social Security Organization will postpone collection of employers' insurance contributions for a period. Implementation of this resolution can reduce part of the financial pressures on economic actors and business owners on the island.
The CEO of the Kish Free Zone Organization, referring to pursuing tax supports, emphasized: in a meeting with officials of the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Finance and the head of the National Tax Administration, it was decided that facilities be considered for businesses active in Kish so that collection of their tax arrears be postponed until the end of Shahrivar.
Kabiri also announced following up the request to issue permission for the exit of goods worth $40,000,000 and said: some economic actors have imported goods into the island that, due to a reduction in tourist presence during the period of war, could not be offered or exited. We hope that with the approval of this request, the grounds for settling and exiting part of these goods will be provided.
He cited choosing Kish as the origin for seafarers' goods as one of the matters pursued on this trip and added: utilizing this capacity can pave the way for forming a new economic cycle for the island's actors and businesses.
The CEO of the Kish Free Zone Organization continued: after months, the resolution related to mobile phone imports to the Kish Free Zone has also been obtained and will soon be officially notified. We will try to use this capacity in the path of developing economic activities and strengthening the island's tourism industry.
Kabiri, referring to planning done to boost travel to Kish, said: in case of achieving lasting peace and improving conditions, negotiations and planning have been carried out with several banks and financial and credit institutions to provide travel facilities to Kish so that compatriots can travel to this island under more suitable conditions.
He expressed hope that with improving conditions, continuous increase in tourist presence and cooperation of the private sector and local communities, the grounds for the return of economic and tourism prosperity to Kish Island will be provided.
Kabiri concluded: with the implementation of the programs and events planned for autumn, provision of bank facilities, creation of new procedures for goods exit and utilization of new economic capacities, we hope that in the coming months part of the losses caused by the reduction in tourists' arrival to the island will be compensated.
