According to the Public Relations and International Affairs of the Kish Free Zone Organization, Mohammad Kabiri, explaining the goals and achievements of his recent trip to Tehran, stated: in business trips to the capital, issues that require a government permit or resolution for immediate support of the island's businesses are pursued through interaction with ministries, organizations, banks, and financial and credit institutions. The recent trip also brought appropriate achievements in the areas of social security, taxation, goods exit, mobile phone imports, and financing travel to Kish.
He added: in cooperation with the Ministry of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts, a resolution has been obtained from the Cabinet according to which the Social Security Organization will defer the collection of employers' insurance contributions for a period. Implementation of this resolution can reduce part of the financial pressures imposed on economic activists and business owners on the island.
The CEO of the Kish Free Zone Organization, referring to pursuing tax supports, said: in a meeting with officials of the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Finance and the head of the National Tax Administration, it was decided to consider facilities for businesses active in Kish so that the collection of their tax arrears would be deferred until the end of Shahrivar.
Kabiri also announced following up the request to issue an export permit for goods worth $40,000,000 and said: some economic actors have imported goods to the island that due to the reduced presence of tourists during the war period could not be sold or exited. We hope that with the approval of this request, the ground will be prepared to determine the status and exit some of these goods.
He listed choosing Kish as the origin for seafarers' goods among the matters pursued on this trip and added: utilizing this capacity can provide the basis for forming a new economic cycle for the island's activists and businesses.
The CEO of the Kish Free Zone Organization continued: after a long time, the resolution related to the import of mobile phones to the Kish Free Zone has also been received and will soon be officially notified. We strive to use this capacity in the path of developing economic activities and strengthening the island's tourism industry.
Kabiri, referring to plans made to boost travel to Kish, said: in case of achieving lasting peace and improving conditions, negotiations and planning have been carried out with several banks and financial and credit institutions to provide travel facilities to Kish so that compatriots can travel to this island under more suitable conditions.
He expressed hope that with improved conditions, a continuous increase in tourist presence, and cooperation of the private sector and local communities, the ground will be prepared for the return of economic and tourism prosperity to Kish Island.
Kabiri concluded: with the implementation of programs and events planned for autumn, the provision of bank facilities, the creation of new procedures for goods exit, and the utilization of new economic capacities, we hope that in the coming months part of the losses caused by the decrease in tourist arrivals to the island will be compensated.
