According to the Public Relations and International Affairs of the Kish Free Zone Organization, the fourteenth session of Sundays of Responsiveness was held with the presence of Kourosh Dastpak, acting head of the Trade Development Management (Customs of the Kish Free Zone Organization), via the 124 telephone system. In this session, the main topics of discussion concerned trade and customs matters, including vehicle clearance, conversion of temporary plates to permanent ones, and resolving challenges of customs processes, for which operational solutions were presented by the Trade Development Management.
Kish; a new hub for imports of seamen’s goods
At the end of this session, Kourosh Dastpak, explaining the importance of the recent directive from the Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade, said: following continuous efforts by Mohammad Kabiri, CEO of the Kish Free Zone Organization, to facilitate the island’s commercial environment, the Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade has issued a directive selecting Kish as the “point of origin for seamen’s goods.”
He added: within the framework of this directive, it is planned that next week part of the goods stranded on Kish Island will be transferred to the mainland through this procedure, which under current conditions could be a positive event for the island’s shopkeepers and traders.
The acting head of the Trade Development Management of the Kish Free Zone Organization continued: implementing this plan, in addition to facilitating the transfer of stranded goods, can in the medium and long term help strengthen Kish’s position as a commercial destination and develop economic activities on the island.
Eliminating paperwork and facilitating trade
The acting head of Trade Development Management, emphasizing this management’s mission to accompany claimants, added: new guidelines and procedures are being implemented so that by accelerating services, the groundwork for turning Kish into a safe and reliable destination for investment is provided.
He stated that one of the key goals of this management by the end of the current year is to maximally reduce paper processes and to systematize services, and emphasized: our effort is that the image of customs in people’s minds be an institution that is transparent, responsive and at the service of Kish residents.
It is worth noting that the “Sundays of Responsiveness” plan, aimed at strengthening direct communication between management and the people, increasing transparency in administrative processes and facilitating the follow-up of Kish residents’ claims, will continue continuously.
