Google, concurrent with the public release of the Pixel 11 series, has published official Factory Image files for all models in this family. These factory images are based on Android 17 and are useful for users and developers who want to restore their Pixel phone to its original factory state in case of serious problems, bugs, or software malfunctions.
According to ITNA quoting Android Authority, three Factory Image versions have been released for the Pixel 11, Pixel 11 Pro, and Pixel 11 Pro XL. All three versions are based on Android 17 and are offered with different build numbers corresponding to August 2026. Unlike last year at the launch of the Pixel 10 series, Google this time has not specified whether each version of the files belongs to a specific carrier or region.
In addition to the standard models, Google has also released Factory Images for the Pixel 11 Pro Fold. Three versions are available for this foldable phone as well, all based on Android 17, and like the other models, no information has been provided about any build's association with a specific carrier or geographic region.
Google's official factory images page also confirms the codenames of the various models in the Pixel 11 series. Accordingly, the codename for the Pixel 11 is cubs, the codename for the Pixel 11 Pro is grizzly, the codename for the Pixel 11 Pro XL is kodiak, and the codename for the Pixel 11 Pro Fold is yogi.
Factory Images are mainly useful for power users, developers, and people facing serious software issues. By installing these files, the device's software can be restored to factory condition and, in some cases, issues caused by bugs or software changes can be resolved.
The release of these files also indicates that Google has begun software support for the new generation of Pixel phones concurrently with their release. Pixel 11 users can download the Factory Image for their model from Google's official developer page; however, installing these files is a specialized process and ordinary users should proceed with caution and awareness of the steps involved.
