According to the Public Relations and International Affairs of the Kish Free Zone Organization, this spiritual ceremony was held after the congregational Maghrib and Isha prayers with the attendance of Kish residents and tourists, and the speakers of the ceremony emphasized the necessity of strengthening unity, solidarity, mutual respect and cohesion in the Islamic community.

Sheikh Ya‘qub Shams, the Friday prayer leader of Kish’s Sunni community, in explaining the concept of unity and the necessity of convergence among followers of Islamic schools of thought said: unity means being present and accompanying one another and preserving solidarity, especially in difficult circumstances. Shia and Sunni can, while maintaining their own beliefs and convictions, stand together on matters common to society and strive to build a prosperous, secure and advanced Iran.

Emphasizing the necessity of practical manifestation of unity in personal and social relations, he added: in families we must strengthen kindness, have more fairness in society, be forgiving and dialoguing in disputes and preserve each other’s dignity. Today we need practical unity, solidarity and mutual respect more than ever, and it is hoped that by the blessing of this auspicious birth, the hearts of Muslims will draw closer to one another more than before.

In continuation of the ceremony, Hojjatoleslam val-Moslemin Mohammad Mahdi Mandegari, congratulating the blessed birth of the noble Prophet of Islam Muhammad Mustafa (PBUH), Imam Jaʿfar al-Sadiq (AS) and Unity Week, referring to the nearly two billion Muslims in the world said: it is hoped that by utilizing the capacity of scholars and figures who strive to strengthen the unity of the Islamic Ummah, the ground for the realization of a united Islamic Ummah and the objectives of the prophets’ mission and mission will be provided more than before.

Emphasizing the place of unity in the cohesion of the Islamic Ummah, he added: unity is the main axis of the bond of the Ummah of the Noble Prophet (PBUH) and any action that causes damage to this unity is contrary to the teachings of the Holy Quran and the conduct of the Prophet of Islam (PBUH). Also, preserving the sanctity of the sacred matters of Islamic sects is among the necessities of unity and insulting each other’s sacred matters is, from a religious, legal and political perspective, reprehensible.

This spiritual ceremony continued with the recitation of mawlid by Abulqasem Fattahi and the performance of the international Tawahish group Sirat al-Nabi (PBUH), and the attendees, in an atmosphere full of fervor and spirituality, commemorated the birth of the noble Prophet of Islam Muhammad Mustafa (PBUH) and Imam Jaʿfar al-Sadiq (AS).

The holding of this ceremony with the presence and welcome of Kish residents and tourists was an expression of devotion to the threshold of the Prophet of Mercy (PBUH) and a renewed emphasis on unity, solidarity and cohesion among Muslims on Kish Island.
