The recreational Dolphin Park complex, with an area of about 100 hectares, is located in the southeast of Kish Island. The complex includes green space with various plant species, a bird garden, and the first and only dolphinarium in Iran.
In the dolphinarium of this complex, various species of marine mammals are kept, including dolphins, northern sea lions, southern sea lions, northern fur seals, walruses and penguins, and visitors can watch their performances trained by Iranian trainers. In total, 21 marine mammals are kept in pools filled with 18,000 cubic meters of seawater.
The green space of Dolphin Park includes more than one hundred plant species, including thousands of palm trees, very large benjamins, laurel trees (figs of the temple), eucalyptus, acacia, myrtle, teak, holm oak, ken karpos, juniperus prostrata and more than 25 species of cactus and other plants, which, considering the climatic conditions of Kish Island and the coral nature of its soil, is unique in its kind.
Visitors in the complex are guided by a tour bus to the bird park and then to the dolphinarium.
Bird Garden
Inside the grounds of Dolphin Park, the bird garden, with more than 57 species of birds including pelicans, ostriches, macaw parrots, various kinds of herons, toucans, turacos, swans, African penguins and rare species such as the short-snouted crocodile, is undoubtedly one of the most unique animal care centers in Iran. Among the notable features of this park is the gathering of diverse species from the farthest parts of the world, from South America to Australia and from East Asia to Africa.
