About this place
Marjan Palace is located in the northern part of the island, behind the Marjan Grand Bazaar, a short distance from the sea, and is connected to other facilities via a branch road from the coastal route and the Marjan Bazaar. The building was designed and built during the Pahlavi era by the Mercury Company.
The palace's architecture is simple and based on the common forms of the island's buildings, with an emphasis on broken arches as the main expression of the island's architecture; the use of high elevations, broken surfaces, covered pathways, and proper ventilation for the hot and humid regions of the northern coasts of the Persian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman can be seen. The large scale of the building and the size of its spaces provide the necessary grandeur. This site was registered on 16 Ordibehesht 1388 under registration number 26579 in the National Heritage List of Iran, and any destruction or alteration of it is considered a crime in accordance with Articles 558 to 569 of Book Five of the Islamic Penal Code.
