The Motorola Android 17 update will bring a wide range of new features and changes to the company’s phones.
According to Eitna quoting Phonearena, Motorola had previously announced the list of devices compatible with this version of Android and has now released more details about the features users will receive. Models such as the Razr Fold, Razr Ultra 2026 and Motorola Signature are among the phones that will receive this update.
One of the most important parts of Motorola’s Android 17 concerns the user interface. The Quick Settings panel has been redesigned and system menus now feature larger buttons and simpler pathways for accessing settings. The home screen interface has also seen changes and HDR brightness management has been improved.
Widgets also receive new capabilities. Interactive widgets now support Snap Scrolling, which makes navigating their content smoother, especially on small displays. The accessibility section will also include changes to vision settings, display scaling and screen magnification.
In communications, one of the most appealing features is the ability to use Quick Share to send files to iOS devices via AirDrop. The Instant Hotspot and Nearby Audio Streams features are also being added to simplify internet connectivity and sharing audio with compatible devices.
AI and security also play an important role in this update. Circle to Search will be added to Motorola phones, allowing users to use visual search. In addition, automatic fraud detection, security locks and smarter notification management are also part of the new features.
Despite this long list, the exact rollout schedule of Android 17 for all Motorola phones is not yet clear. Even the company’s official list apparently does not include some older eligible models. This issue, given Motorola’s not-so-stellar track record with Android updates, has raised concerns. However, reports from some users receiving Android 17 on models such as the Motorola Signature and Moto G57 Power could be a positive sign of a faster Motorola rollout for this update.
