According to the Public Relations and International Affairs of the Kish Free Zone Organization, at this meeting topics including the status of the airport's infrastructure and technical and specialized services, flight schedules, the manner of providing services to passengers and Kish residents, safety-related issues, development of flight destinations and strategies to increase tourist entry to Kish Island were reviewed and addressed.
Zamani, referring to the position of Kish International Airport as one of the main gateways for tourists to Kish, stated: Considering the wartime conditions and with the follow-ups of the CEO of the Kish Free Zone Organization, efforts were made for Kish Airport to resume its operations in the shortest possible time.
He added: Kish International Airport was the first airport in the south of the country to reopen after the recent events and to resume its flight operations.
The Director General of Kish International Airport, emphasizing the necessity of providing worthy services to passengers and Kish residents, noted: The entire effort of the airport team is that the services provided be befitting of Kish residents and tourists and, with coordination, follow-up and planning carried out, we witness an increase in the number of flights and the development of the island's air connections.
Zamani also reported a significant growth in the airport's flight indicators and said: From 14 to 20 Shahrivar, the number of Kish Airport flights increased by 44 percent compared to the period from 31 Mordad to 6 Shahrivar, and the number of passengers experienced a 47 percent growth.
Referring to the upcoming second half of the peak travel season to Kish, he stated: Planning for the development of origins and new flight destinations is on the agenda and with the establishment of routes Bandar Abbas, Tabriz and Gorgan, the Yazd route is also being pursued. Also, foreign routes including Baghdad have been examined with regard to economic and operational justification to provide the grounds for increasing tourist entry to the island.
The Director General of Kish International Airport, referring to the capacities and existing infrastructure at the airport, said: Suitable platforms for providing airport services have been prepared and the existing systems and infrastructures have made it possible to provide satisfactory services to flights and passengers.
In another part of this meeting, one of the Kish residents, contacting the 124 system, while appreciating the actions and follow-ups of the Director General of Kish International Airport, praised and thanked him and the airport team for their efforts to provide more suitable conditions and to raise the level of services to Kish residents and passengers.
