iOS 27 has finally been released for the iPhone and it seems Apple has been able to address many of the criticisms raised about iOS 26.
According to ITPNA via Phonearena, from the perspective of an expert on that website who is also a longtime Android user, iOS 27 is one of Apple’s best software updates in recent years; he particularly praised the increased speed and smoother performance on older phones like the iPhone 13 and iPhone 15 Plus.
One of the most important changes is the new Siri. Apple’s assistant in iOS 27 acts more like a chatbot and saves conversations. Users can also add photos, documents and files to conversations. Also, by swiping on the Dynamic Island, access to Siri from within different apps has become easier.
The visual intelligence feature has also improved and is available via the new Siri camera mode. Users can hold the camera control button to capture their surroundings and receive information related to the subject in the image.
Apple has also added the ability to customize the appearance of the Liquid Glass. Users can now adjust the transparency and color of this interface with a slider. This change gives users more control over the system’s appearance.
Another important feature is the ability to independently set alarm volume and system volume; a simple but practical feature that has existed on Android for a long time.
In the photos section, the Photos app can use AI to extend images or reframe them, although the quality of the results is not always consistent. Large, full-screen widgets also display more information on the home screen.
Among other practical features is the use of AI in the Shortcuts app. The user can explain their request in natural language so the system creates a shortcut tailored to it.
Overall, iOS 27 is less of a major redesign and more of a mature, fast and practical update that fixes the previous version’s problems and improves the iPhone user experience.
