According to the Public Relations and International Affairs of the Kish Free Zone Organization, the eleventh meeting of the Council of Deputies and Directors of this organization was held with the presence of Mohammad Kabiri, CEO of the Kish Free Zone Organization, deputies and directors of this organization.
Mohammad Kabiri, in remarks before the agenda of this meeting, while appreciating the efforts of the private sector and the various deputyships of this organization for holding the Kish 05 Festival, said: From the beginning we were aware of the turbulences and possible obstacles, obstacles most of which are not within the authority of the Kish Free Zone. Nevertheless, with the determination, effort and tireless spirit that existed across all organs of the organization and also the private sector, this path began well and will continue.
He considered the Kish 05 Festival to be more than a tourism event and added: This festival is in a way a festival of hope, revival of life, creating excitement and strengthening the economic path on which the continuation of Kish's economic life depends. We hope, with the grace of God and the relative stabilization of the growth conditions we witness today, that this path will continue.
Kabiri, referring to the economic conditions caused by the imposed war, stressed: Although we are distant from the desirable point we experienced last year and the year before, I believe we have taken the first step on a suitable path.
Support for businesses and implementation of Kish support package
The CEO of the Kish Free Zone Organization, referring to the cooperation of various organizations and collections in holding the Kish 05 Festival, appreciated the governmental bodies based on Kish Island and the business entities that cooperated in this path.
He also thanked the Minister of Economic Affairs and Finance and the Head of the National Tax Administration for understanding the conditions and suitably accompanying Kish businesses and said: Our expectation is that this cooperative spirit will be strengthened in other agencies based on Kish Island as well so that some of the existing pressures on Kish businesses are reduced and the grounds for their continued presence and activity on the island are provided.
Kabiri, referring to the support package of the Kish Free Zone Organization, added: Part of the measures of this package has been implemented and another part will be operational within the next three months. One of these measures is the allocation of a 50 million toman interest-free livelihood loan for the groups who suffered the most damage in the imposed war.
He continued: Despite resource limitations, efforts were made to provide the required resources and with the cooperation of Mehr Iran Interest-Free Bank, from next week this loan will be paid monthly to 2,000 people based on the prioritization announced by the Cultural Deputy of the Kish Free Zone Organization.
The CEO of the Kish Free Zone Organization added: Business-related loans will also be paid through the implementing banks following the pursuit of the Economic Deputy.
Facilitating economic activity and supporting goods shipment
Kabiri said another supportive measure relates to the cost of shipping goods and stated: From 23 September to 11 November, the Kish Free Zone Organization, with the quota that the Cultural Deputy will announce in cooperation with the Economic Deputy, will cover 50 percent of the postage cost for each economic activity permit.
He added: With the cooperation of the Customs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, which is based on Kish Island, we have started this plan experimentally this week. In two specified markets that will be announced, goods will be assessed and shipping through this route will be facilitated.
Kabiri continued: The facilities and human resources required by the Customs of the Islamic Republic of Iran have also been provided by the Kish Free Zone Organization and we hope this plan, after a 10-day trial period, will officially commence from 23 September.
He emphasized: The Kish Free Zone Organization has made every effort to use the existing legal authorities to increase the resilience of businesses on the beautiful Kish Island.
The CEO of the Kish Free Zone Organization added: We hope the government will also help increase this resilience with the supports that can be provided at the national level and provide the grounds for operational and executive support for the survival and businesses during the imposed war and the continuation of their activities on the island.
The role of media in introducing Kish's capacities
The CEO of the Kish Free Zone Organization further sincerely thanked all media, media activists and media-people who during these days spread the positive atmosphere of Kish and strive to attract more tourists.
He considered these measures, alongside the efforts of active businesses on the island, valuable and commendable and added: The activity of the media in introducing the capacities and conditions of Kish is very effective in attracting tourists and strengthening the island's economic trend.
Accelerating projects by establishing a PMO
Kabiri, referring to the effective role of the Project Management Office (PMO) system in the qualitative and quantitative advancement of projects, emphasized the necessity of making maximum use of the available time opportunity to implement programs and projects in the organization and its subsidiary companies in cooperation with the PMO team.
Kabiri noted: It should also be specified by which routes each project will be supported, such as public–private partnership, civil participation, facilities or other financing methods.
He added: The procedure for this mechanism has been prepared and after notification, all deputies, managers, heads of departments and experts will use this capacity and full utilization of it will be completed by mid-October.
In continuation of the eleventh meeting of the Council of Deputies and Directors of the Kish Free Zone Organization, the agenda-related topics were reviewed in the presence of the deputies and directors of this organization and necessary decisions were made.
