According to the Public Relations and International Affairs of the Kish Free Zone Organization, Dr. Saeed Javdan-Sirat, director of Kish Hospital, at the ceremony commemorating World Patient Safety Day, referring to the importance of caring for patients, said: Care means reducing the risk of complications and hazards that may threaten the patient’s health, and achieving this goal requires the cooperation and coordination of all factors involved in the treatment process.

He added: The team of physicians, management, medical and health staff, hospital employees and even patients’ families each constitute part of the patient safety chain, and cooperation and coordination among these groups can minimize potential risks and complications for the patient.

The director of Kish Hospital, stating that the issue of patient safety and care is considered at all stages of work, said: At Kish Hospital, safety and care matters are reminded to medical teams, health and treatment staff in various meetings and stages, and related reports and follow-ups are pursued seriously, and fortunately based on the follow-ups carried out, cases of errors and related problems in the hospital have been at a low level.

Emphasis on observing hygiene measures during the outbreak of seasonal diseases

Javdan-Sirat, referring to the spread of diseases such as influenza, asked Kish residents and patients to observe hygiene measures more strictly during the period of infectious disease outbreaks.

He emphasized: Until the vaccine is distributed in the country, it is necessary for people to observe hygiene and preventive measures as much as possible and, if they see or feel any symptom of illness, to see a doctor as soon as possible for examination and to receive medical services.

The director of Kish Hospital also announced forthcoming positive news regarding meeting the hospital’s needs and strengthening human resources and said: Necessary actions and follow-ups in this area are underway.

He, congratulating on World Patient Safety Day and appreciating the efforts of hospital staff, the Public Relations and International Affairs of the Kish Free Zone Organization and members of the media, noted: Care in all hospital departments must be carried out seriously and in accordance with patients’ conditions.

Observation, prevention and questioning; three main axes of patient care

Javdan-Sirat, referring to the necessity of special attention to vulnerable groups and different hospital departments, said: Departments such as pediatrics and geriatrics and also issues including infection control require continuous and serious attention.

He named the three main axes of patient care as “observation, prevention and questioning” and added: In the observation stage, careful attention to the patient’s condition, including skin color, level of consciousness and other clinical signs, is very important and physicians must take the lead in this regard.

The director of Kish Hospital also emphasized the importance of questioning and said: The physician’s questioning of the patient and the continuous communication of the medical staff and nurses with the patient play an important role in timely identification of problems and prevention of errors.

Javdan-Sirat stated: Patient safety is not a choice; it is a commitment and we are committed to ensuring patient safety.

At the end of this ceremony, the efforts and services of the staff and personnel of Kish Hospital in providing treatment services and observing the principles of safety and patient care were appreciated
