The deputy speaker of Parliament said: The credit of the ration card must be increased.
Hamidreza Hajibabaei, referring to the latest status of increasing the electronic ration card credit, said: One of the fundamental problems about the ration card is that we in Parliament have to explain instead of the government, whereas the government should report and explain to the people on television because lack of transparency and information leads to increased ambiguities.
Hajibabaei added: The government must honestly explain the conditions to the people based on how much its revenues and expenditures are, and if it has not done something, it was for such-and-such a reason, but unfortunately we suffer from a lack of reporting and lack of informing the people.
The deputy speaker of Parliament continued: In my opinion, as far as the government can, it must insist on the ration card, meaning it should increase the ration card credit and also allocate credits for it because the ration card is the only thing that can be lifesaving in this situation and solve the problem especially for low-income groups.
According to ISNA, in response to the question of how much Parliament proposes to increase the ration card credit, he said: I do not want to state an amount for the increase in credit but the government should increase the ration card credit in proportion to its revenue; more precisely, the government should add to the ration card credit as much as it can so that people's livelihoods improve.
The general outlines of the plan to increase ration card credit were approved
In a meeting attended by President Masoud Pezeshkian, ways to provide financial resources to increase the ration card credit were reviewed and the general outlines of this plan were approved.
In this meeting it was emphasized that temporary and permanent sources be separated from one another and the feasibility of each source should also be examined so that the implementation of the plan is carried out without creating budget imbalances and pressure on macroeconomic indicators.
Pezeshkian also said that despite the conditions resulting from war and sanctions, securing people’s livelihoods remains a priority of the government.
