According to the Public Relations and International Affairs of the Kish Free Zone Organization, the ceremony commemorating Reporter’s Day was held with the presence of the island's journalists and media activists, the CEO of the Kish Free Zone Organization, a number of deputies and directors of the organization, and the CEOs of subsidiary companies.
Ezzatollah Mohammadi, CEO of Kish Ports and Airports Development and Management Company, in this ceremony, expressing gratitude for the journalists' cooperation, said: the island's media over the past year, with a responsible and caring approach, have followed up on Kish’s events and issues and have played an effective role in informing and strengthening hope in the community.
He emphasized the necessity of accurately narrating the island's events and added: part of the efforts and actions undertaken at various times to ensure continuity of services and maintain calm in Kish need professional documentation and narration, and the media can, through precise reporting, provide the public with a clear picture of these actions.
Mohammadi also stressed the need to strengthen the connection between the Kish Free Zone Organization's subsidiary companies and media professionals and said: holding periodic, seasonal, or scheduled meetings with journalists can provide the basis for more accurate information about activities and also for directly receiving the community's views, questions, and demands.
The CEO of Kish Ports and Airports Development and Management Company considered the media a communication link between the people and executive bodies and emphasized continuing this interaction to accurately convey information and reflect issues of public concern.
Continuing the ceremony, Ali Adli, CEO of Kish Development, Water and Services Company, referring to the role of the media in reflecting urban issues, said: the speed of information transmission by journalists in Kish is very high and in some cases, city-level issues and events are conveyed to managers and executive bodies by the media in the shortest time.
He added: the topics that journalists reflect often mirror the views and priorities of the community, and this feedback can be considered in identifying issues and setting executive priorities.
Adli, appreciating the critical perspective of media activists, said: the frank presentation of criticisms and issues by journalists helps better identify shortcomings and reform processes and can provide the grounds for improving service quality.
The CEO of Kish Development, Water and Services Company, emphasizing the direct impact of urban services on the island's image, said: the quality of services that Kish residents and tourists receive in the city forms part of Kish's image and credibility; therefore, desirable performance in urban services is directly related to protecting the Kish brand.
He noted: the media, by conveying the community's demands and reflecting urban issues, can help executive bodies more accurately recognize priorities and improve service quality.
Next, Saman Derikvandi, Head of Inspection of the Kish Free Zone Organization, described the media as the society's awakened conscience and the officials' seeing eye and said: the Inspection Department has tried, alongside official channels, to receive and follow up on the community's issues and feedback through media activists as well.
He added: in numerous cases, journalists have transferred public issues and demands to the Inspection Department for follow-up, and these matters, after review, have been referred to the relevant specialized departments and the process of handling them has been pursued.
Derikvandi also announced the Inspection Department's readiness to present reports on the follow-up process of demands to media professionals and said: in one of the Sunday accountability sessions a report of received calls and requests, categorization of topics, actions taken, and the latest status of their handling can be presented in the presence of journalists.
Referring to the 124 system, he said: citizens can register their issues and requests through this system. Registered topics are referred to the relevant specialized department according to their field, and after review and follow-up, the result will be communicated to the requester.
The Head of Inspection of the Kish Free Zone Organization concluded by stressing the continuation of interaction with the media community and said: receiving feedback and the people's demands through journalists can help more accurately identify issues, accelerate the follow-up process, and strengthen the accountability of responsible bodies.
