According to the Public Relations and International Affairs of the Kish Free Zone Organization, the fifteenth session of the Kish Free Zone Organization's Answering Sundays was held via the 124 system with the presence of Seyed Mohammadmahdi Miri, the organization's Commerce Director. In this session, the majority of calls and demands raised by the public were devoted to changes in commodity prices and the manner of offering items at new and old prices in retail units.

In response to these demands, Seyed Mohammadmahdi Miri, while providing necessary explanations about the pricing process and market supervision, asked citizens to report any violations regarding pricing and the supply of goods through the 124 system so that the cases can be examined by inspectors of the Supervision and Market Regulation Department and the results conveyed to Kish residents.

Continued market supervision with cooperation of related agencies

The Commerce Director of the Kish Free Zone Organization, referring to the planning carried out by order of the organization's CEO and the Economic and Investment Deputy, stated: supervision and market regulation are pursued continuously and weekly with the cooperation of the Kish Prosecutor's Office and the special representative appointed in this area as well as the Public Places Police.

Miri added: regular inspections of retail units are conducted with the aim of supervising the manner of offering goods, pricing and compliance with regulations, and the results of these actions are visible in the market.

He also announced the implementation of a pricing scheme for fruits and vegetables in cooperation with the Bazaar Traders Association and said: currently 14 items of fruits and vegetables that have a larger share in the household basket and daily consumption are under supervision and pricing, and the prices of these items are determined twice weekly.

According to the Commerce Director of the Kish Free Zone Organization, the determined prices are the basis for the activities of the inspectors of the Supervision and Market Regulation Department for conducting inspections and supervising the manner of offering these items.

Facilitating and electronicizing commercial processes

Continuing, Miri described the Commerce Management's programs for the current year, stating that facilitating and accelerating service processes are priorities of this management, and said: planning to facilitate the issuance and renewal of permits, the process of goods exiting the island and other matters related to Commerce Management is on the agenda.

He added: this year efforts will be made to electronicize parts of the processes that are not yet electronic so that while reducing visits, the speed of service delivery increases and administrative processes are facilitated for Kish residents and economic actors.

The Commerce Director of the Kish Free Zone Organization also spoke about the validity of permits for retail units whose expiration dates were from 1 Bahman 1404 until before 31 Shahrivar 1405, saying: based on the Cabinet resolution and the order of the organization's Economic and Investment Deputy, the validity of these permits will remain until 31 Shahrivar.

He continued: if owners of retail units and applicants face problems in carrying out administrative matters in the Free Zone customs, the Traffic Police, the Labor Department or other agencies, they can refer to the Commerce Management to receive a "In Progress" letter and use it to follow up their affairs until 31 Shahrivar.

Emphasis on the role of the public in market supervision

Concluding, Miri, emphasizing the importance of citizens' participation in the market supervision process, said: from our perspective every Kish resident is an observer and an inspector and we expect Kish residents, in line with their social responsibility, to assist the Commerce Management in better supervising the market.

He concluded by noting: Kish residents can share matters related to violations and ambiguities in the market area with the Commerce Management through the 124 system so that the issue is examined and followed up by inspectors as quickly as possible.
