Samsung has released the seventh beta build of the One UI 9 interface for the Galaxy S26 series; an update that brings new AI-based capabilities, but Samsung has not yet provided precise details about the nature of these features.

The changelog for the seventh One UI 9 beta includes only three main items: addition of new AI features, fix for unexpected device restarts, and improvements to "Do Not Disturb" mode.

This update is about 1.2 GB in size, is based on Android 17, and includes the August 5 security update. Releasing seven beta builds for a single update cycle is a significant number.

As usual, Samsung first released this build in South Korea and then expanded its rollout to India, the United Kingdom, Poland, and Germany. The United States is expected to be added to the list of receiving countries soon, while France is not yet among these markets.

The One UI 9 beta program for the Galaxy S26 series began in May, and its duration has been longer than usual.

Leaked details of the AI features

Samsung remains silent about the exact nature of the new AI features in this update, but leaked technical information indicates that these capabilities are the same features that were made available for the first time on the Galaxy Z Fold 8 foldable phone that Samsung released this summer.

One of these features is My FanCam, which allows users to reframe recorded group videos to focus on a specific person. This tool enables selecting the desired subject and isolating them from the recorded scene in multiple output formats, reducing the need for manual and complex editing.

The update also includes integration of the built-in Finder search engine with Google Search as a single option in settings. This allows users to perform broad searches across different parts of the phone-including apps, contacts, files, and settings-by entering natural language commands.

Ability to customize daily briefs

In the information organization section, the Now Brief tool, which is designed to provide daily summaries in the Galaxy AI ecosystem, has received a new capability.

With this change, users can now create custom cards based on their needs instead of being limited to Samsung's pre-defined cards.

The final official One UI 9 release for the Galaxy S26 series is expected to be published in September (Shahrivar or Mehr 1405), and based on available information, no further delay in its release is anticipated.

Also, according to Frandroid, the Galaxy S26 FE phone, which will be released roughly at the same time as the final version of this OS, will be provided to users by default with One UI 9.
