This residence is one of the oldest houses on Kish Island, featuring a completely indigenous architectural style. The owner of this house, the late Haj Abdullah bin Shaheen, was a well-known and beloved figure in Kish over the past 80 years, a pearl merchant and owner of one of the largest sailing dhows of that time, and he was also skilled in commerce and ghalafi (dhow building). This house was converted into the Kish Indigenous Anthropology House with the aim of introducing the history, culture, customs and traditions, livelihood and unique handicrafts of Kish islanders, creating employment, involving locals in the tourism sector, and realizing sustainable tourism development. All the rooms and spaces of the house were restored using indigenous materials while preserving the traditional architecture and demonstrate the lifestyle of Kish islanders over the past 80 years.
