Geographical and Climatic Features

The microclimates of Kish Island are strongly dominated by phenomena arising from the vast aquatic substrate, whose daily temperature fluctuation range throughout the year is very small. The island's vapor pressure is often at a very high level for most of the year. The average daily temperature difference on the island over the year is less than 9–10 degrees, and temperature drops never reach freezing or zero.
Kish's air from Mehr to Farvardin has a mild and pleasant warmth, and during this period the island is in favorable environmental conditions. From Ordibehesht to Mehr, Kish's weather is hot and humid, and the island's average daily temperatures in these months are almost close to each other. In Ordibehesht, because the sea water is still cold and relative humidity is low, Kish's air is almost dry and its winds are gentle, cool, and breezy, and overall its weather is springlike and delicate and its environmental conditions are very favorable.
The temperature difference between the hottest and coldest month in Kish is about 16 degrees. That is, Dey is the month with the lowest evaporation and the coolest and driest month of the island, and Mordad is the month with the highest evaporation and the hottest month of the island. Although Kish sits on a salt dome, unlike other islands (such as Qeshm), the crests of the underlying salt domes have not yet risen much, and therefore fortunately the island's geological situation is such that their intrusion underground does not cause increased salinity, and with measures it is possible to retain precipitation in ponds for long periods after each rainfall and make maximum use of it.
