According to a report received from Irancell’s public relations, the renovation and rehabilitation project of Shaheed Motahari Elementary School and Shaheed Fahmideh Middle School in the city of Songhor, Kermanshah province, began in 1404 after reviewing needs announced by the local community and field assessments. This school, with more than 320 students across both levels, required rehabilitation and renovation due to building and facility deterioration.

In this project, various parts of the school’s internal and external spaces were rehabilitated, and the educational environment was equipped and beautified so that students could start the school year in a safe, standard, and suitable learning environment. Educational support packages including backpacks and stationery were also provided to the students of this school.

This action was implemented with the aim of reducing part of families’ educational expenses, supporting continued education, and creating more suitable conditions for students, and along with the development and rehabilitation of educational infrastructure, it constitutes part of Irancell’s programs to support students in deprived areas.

Irancell has made educational equity and reducing inequality in access to learning opportunities one of the pillars of its social investment and in recent years has carried out a series of actions in the field of constructing, renovating, equipping, and empowering schools.

Irancell’s participation in the national campaign “Everyone Present”

Simultaneous with the start of the school year, Irancell, aiming to support the continuation of education for students under the coverage of the Welfare Organization, has also participated as the sole sponsor of the national campaign “Everyone Present.” This campaign is held from 10 Shahrivar to mid-Mehr 1405 with the aim of providing stationery for students under the Welfare Organization, and Irancell, using its communication and information capacities, including sending nationwide SMS and providing the possibility of participation via the USSD code #123* and using advertising capacities of “Irancell-Man,” ISPORT, Aparat, and Irancell’s social media pages, helps to expand public participation in this campaign. In this plan, educational support, skills training, and empowerment of students under the Welfare Organization are highlighted.

Danestan, a step to support education and empower working children

In the field of supporting working and at-risk children, Irancell has pursued the “Danestan” project in cooperation with the Welfare Organization of Tehran Province and the Sobh Royesh School. In the first phase of this project, the specialized elementary school “Danestan” was put into operation in 1403 so that working children could continue their education in a safe environment suited to their educational needs.

Subsequently, Irancell, by developing the educational spaces of this complex, including launching a digital training room and a STEM education space, provided grounds for students to become familiar with new technologies and to strengthen skills such as creative thinking, problem solving, teamwork, and scientific thinking.

Last year this path continued with the construction of a play-based training room with a Montessori approach. A space that pursues learning through experience and play and helps strengthen children’s cognitive, social, communicative, and problem-solving skills. Also, as part of this project, a screening and treatment program for students’ oral and dental health was implemented so that some of their health needs would also be addressed. The collection of these actions has expanded Irancell’s Danestan approach from creating educational infrastructure to continuous support for children’s education, skills training, and health.

Participation in the development and equipping of schools

So far, Irancell has participated in the digital development and equipping of 48 schools and educational centers in the provinces of Golestan, Lorestan, Khuzestan, Sistan and Baluchestan, Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad, Fars, Kermanshah, Razavi Khorasan, South Khorasan, Hormozgan, Qom, and other areas. Part of these actions, by creating sustainable infrastructures such as solar power plants, has not only upgraded school facilities but also helped create continuous income sources for them.

Also in past years, more than 13,000 schools in deprived areas were equipped with modems and internet so that students and school staff could access digital educational services and resources.

Support for the national campaigns “Build a School” and “Minab’s Angels”

Continuing its efforts to develop educational equity, Irancell, in cooperation with the Organization for Renovation, Development and Equipment of Schools of the country, enabled subscribers to participate in the national campaign “Build a School” via the USSD code #24*.

Also, to inform about this campaign and increase public participation in building and equipping schools in deprived areas, informational SMS messages were sent to millions of subscribers, and other Irancell communication and digital platforms were used to introduce this campaign. Following these actions, the Medal of Honor and the Supporters’ Sash for School Building in Iran, in recognition of Irancell’s role in developing educational equity and participating in the country’s school-building movement, was awarded to Irancell.

In another action, Irancell joined the national campaign “Minab’s Angels” with the aim of accelerating the reconstruction of schools damaged by war and returning students to a safe and standard educational environment. This campaign was led by the Ministry of Education and the Organization for Renovation, Development and Equipment of Schools of the country and implemented with the participation of the public, companies, and organizations, and Irancell, by allocating the USSD code #24*, provided a financial participation path in this campaign for its subscribers.

Empowering teachers in deprived area schools

Within the framework of social investment programs, the project “Empowering Teachers in Deprived Area Schools” was implemented by Irancell using the capacity of “Dana Academy.” In this plan, 500 eligible teachers in deprived provinces were given access to specialized training courses in digital skills, software, life skills, and personal development.

This program, aiming to improve teachers’ professional skills, enhance education quality, and reduce the digital divide, was implemented and, given the scope of participating teachers’ activities, indirectly affects about 200,000 students.

The sum of these actions covers Irancell’s approach to developing educational equity from rehabilitating educational spaces and providing equipment to expanding internet access, providing educational support to students, and creating sustainable income sources for schools. An approach that, at the start of each school year, focuses on providing equal educational opportunities for students in various regions of the country.
